To build a rocking chair
...you're probably nuts. Some would say that this is the most difficult piece of furniture to make. I would agree. I did not finish my chair on-time and labored months after it was supposed to be finished. It was a valuable lesson in how thoughtful design at the beginning will impact a product. Now it rests in my apartment; my friends sit and rock in the chair I built and I love to watch their face when they learn that I made it.
challenged myself to in wood and metal together so that I would have a solid understanding of both building elements. No design-build process is ever linear and these multiple pages from my sketchbooks show the evolving thoughts and problem solving over the months of iteration and construction.
